Slice Review and Giveaway!

Ok so a little while ago I wrote about the Slice Safety Cutter. Well today I received 2 of them!. So I'm going to do a quick review and then a giveaway. First things first. DO NOT cut on anything but a cutting board or something you dont mind cutting up. See here:

As you can see its actually quite small. Just put pressure on it and go.

Make sure to hold it flat or it will tear the paper.

And as you can see it cuts really well.

Ok so after some testing I found that you can cut up to 7 layers of coupon paper and only 4 layers of printer paper. Over all I would recomend this but it does take alot more time then the scissors. My 6 yr old son had a blast cutting paper into strips with it.

On to the giveaway part of this posting. You will recieve one entry for each comment left on this post.

1. Follow my blog via GFC.
2. Tell me about your favorite post.

Anyone want to hit up Target with me??

Slice Safety Cutter

I heard about this wonderful product called Slice Safety Cutter. Its suppose to be great for cutting coupons. I have written to the company asking for more information where we can purchase these. Unfortunately after two weeks I still have heard nothing. I'm actually quite disappointed right now and have written them again in a last ditch effort. I would love to be able to share more on this product with my fellow couponers. If anyone knows where they can be purchased please let me know. Here is what they look like:

Thanks!

****UPDATE**** I just received an email (rather quickly) these products are available here. They are sending me a sample and I will let you know how they work. Thanks everyone :D

Trying Something New

Ok, I'm an admitted Reese's addict. About a week or so ago I was munching on some miniature Reese's and to my surprise I got one WITHOUT peanut butter! I wasn't sure how to react but a friend suggested I contact the company. I did. Well a few days ago I received an email back from them. They are sending me out a coupon. So after looking into this phenomenon I have gathered a lot of companies will do this. Now it doesn't have to be a complaint! You just need to take the time to write them with how you feel about their product (good or bad). I think I will now make an attempt to write at least one company a day. Doing my research I have found that most people who write companies keep a log. So today I am making my log. I will keep this in my coupon binder. If anyone wants a copy of this log please comment below with your email address and I'll send you a copy!

Today's Haul

Free Bic pens at Walgreens with coupon. (on sale $1.99 and there was a $2 off coupon) I had $4 in RR so I purchased 2 Softsoaps $2.69 each (on sale BOGO and a $1 coupon for each) and 2 candles ($1.49 each on clearance in Christmas eisle) at Rite Aid.

Rite Aid Stayfree is 2/$5. I had 3 BOGO coupons for Stay free. For every 2 you purchase you get $2 RR. So I purchased the first set with a my almost expired $4 RR from last weeks Special K deal. This first set totaled $2.50 I used $2 in RR bucks and paid $.50. I got back $2 in RR bucks. I did the same for the other 2 sets. So in total I paid $1.50 in cash and had $4 RR left over. I used those for the previous photo.

This set cost a total of $.97 at Target. I had 5 $1 off coupons for Reach floss. The cost $.97 each. While I was picking these there was a women there looking at floss and I offered her one of my coupons for a free floss. Thats my good karma for the day :) The dividers I found in the Dollar Spot for $1 of course. I needed a filler anyway and I can use them in my coupon binder.

There were coupons sent out by BJ's Wholesale for free mini cornbreads and 3lbs of bananas! These coupons are good till Jan 28th so if you are a BJ's member then check your email.

Ahhh and now the finale my Shaws haul. This cost me...ready for it...$.10. I found the 2 boxes of cereal in the clearance area for $1 each and I had a coupon for $1.50 off 2 boxes. Total so far $.50 The Colgate was on sale for $.99 each. I had $1 off coupons for each of those. Total now $.46. The Vitamin waters were on sale 10/$10. I bought 3 and had 3 $.75 off coupons for them. Total now $1.21. The Gaterade wasn't on sale, its cost $1.99. I had a coupon for a free one which was good up to $2.99. Total now $.21. I had a coupon for a free bottle of Simply Apple so the total hasn't changed. Finally the Maalox was $4.89. I had a coupon for $5 off. The total $.10!!

Todays total would have cost me $78.16 if I had paid regular price for everything. The grand total for todays haul was $1.07!

Thats a 99% savings.

***correction my total would have been $82.04 forgot to add a receipt***

Wendy's Fry For All

I'll make this a quick post. Wendy's is giving away free fries and a chance to win other prizes on their facebook page. Grab your free fries here. Enjoy and pass on the fries to friends!

How to use a BOGO coupon for free products.

People have asked me how do you get items for free using a BOGO (buy one get one free) coupon. Its simple find that item on sale for BOGO. Yep its just that easy!

See these boxes of Special K:

They were free! Rite aid had a BOGO sale on these and I signed up for the Special K Challenge to get two BOGO coupons. So heres how it works. Understanding coupon lingo and logic is critical. Coupons are considered a form of payment, similar to a check, because the store will get money back from the manufacturer for each coupon you give them. So you will buy the first item using your BOGO coupon as payment. The store will cover the price of the second one. So you get both products for free.
These deals seem to come about as often as the free product coupons so watch for them closely!

Lowes Build and Grow

I know I posted about this before but I have to say its one of my son's favorite freebies. Look here at what he built this last time:

Just go to the Lowes Build and Grow site and sign up for the next one. I have already signed him up for the ball toss on 1/22/11 and I am signing him up for music box on 2/12/11. He is so excited everytime we go because not only is he getting a new toy, its free and he gets to build it.

Freebie Coupons

Once in a blue moon companies offer freebie coupons. I dont mean the ones for like $1.00 off or cents off. No I mean a coupon for a free product. These don't come along often but when they do be ready to pounce. They usually only offer a certain number of these before stopping. Heres a pic of the last freebie trip I did with just these type of coupons:

Yes all of these were completely free! If I receive word on these type of coupons I will try to post as quickly as possible for you. Hope you were all able to get the Excedrin ones when I posted them.

There are two giveaways going on for a new pair of shoes.

First one is from Key West Sandal Factory- theirs is kinda hard you need to have 100 friends in common. Basically you will need to friend request a TON of people. they pulled it unfairly!

Second looks to be The Dr. Oz show and Nike giving away you guessed it a pair of Nike shoes. Looks like this will start tomorrow at 3pm EST and its for the first 2011 people.

BRING ON THE SHOES!!!!

The Krazy Coupon Lady

Ok so heres another amazing website to check out. I have been couponing for a little while but nothing crazy. I do love a freebie here and there but I'm no expert in couponing. So this past wednesday morning I received an email about this show, Extreme Couponging, I so wanted to watch. Unfortunately I could not watch due to a crazy 6yr old's 3 hour tantrum. I did get a chance to check out the info on this show on the TLC website. This lead me to my new favorite coupon website. The site is called The Krazy Coupon Lady. This site not only is for experienced couponers but also the "coupon virgins" as they call us. They have a 10 day course if you want to take it (if you can handle it it can be done in less then a day). My favorite part of this website is their awesome coupon binder stuff. I was able to print off the index and all 37 categories. They also explain how to get a binder and organize all your coupons. I had all my supplies on hand from scrapbooking. I had the binder, baseball card holders, and transparent page holders. Here is my binder so far. Please keep in mind I just started this and it is NO WHERE near finished.

First my cover (work in progress) I'm waiting for my new VistaPrint gear to make a real cover

Second my random pocket (things I haven't figured out where to file) and my index page

Third I have coupon policys for all places I shop

Fourth I have some stock up price lists (if its under a certain price stock up) and my first page of coupons. I dont have alot of baseball card holders so some pages will look like this with the coupons just stuck in the page protector.

Fifth my coupons in baseball card holders

and last but not least sixth... due to lack of enough holders I used sticky tabs to make general areas such as cookie dough, oil, frosting ect.

I would love to see how yours is coming. Feel free to email me and I'll share it! :) I'll be posting more as I update as well.
